Alicia Keys’ Bangles Bigger Than Her Baby Bump

Singer Alicia Keys brought Central Park to life recently as she performed on ABC’s “Good Morning America”, drawing the largest crowd in the history of the programme’s summer concert series as she wowed the audience with her renditions of Empire State of Mind and Broken Heart.

There was pure energy exuding from the glowing expectant mother-to-be as she flaunted her burgeoning baby bump in a causal white khaki romper accented with a dark brown belt. It was not just the bump she was showing off though.

The usual funky wildness of her hair had shifted to her goliath bronze bangles, stacked stylishly along her arm for even the farthest audience to see. Perhaps the 29 year old R&B singer got inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama who sported similar large bangles at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. A pair of bronze tinted metallic hoop earrings complemented the bangles.

The beautiful singer is proof enough that all the preggy ladies out there need not drown in a pitiful mountain of boring maternity clothes and zilch fashion sense. If your tummy is getting bigger, that’s a perfect reason to celebrate with even bolder jewelry, which is definitely something stylish to reminisce about with your kids in the future!

Kristen Stewart: Twilight Snow White at Eclipse Premiere

Thousands of Twilight fans went over the moon (pun intended) yesterday as they finally got to witness their favorite Twilight Saga: Eclipse stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner on the gothic black carpet (that’s right, black!) for the most-awaited movie premiere of the year.

They had been waiting all week, in make-shift tents outside the Los Angeles Nokia Theatre with the hope of getting spots near the black carpet and their patience finally paid off. I was over the moon for a different reason altogether: Kristen Stewart took a risk and wore WHITE! Halleluiah! It’s about time girl.

She looked neither like a vampire nor a werewolf but a contemporary angel, who finally decided to come out of her black couture comfort heaven and shine like the pearly white moon itself. Now this is what I call a reverse fashion eclipse. She rocked a white backless, one-sleeved Ellie Saab mini gown with Big Lips 120 suede pumps from Christian Louboutin.

I must admit that before checking out whatever Kristen’s wearing, I always find myself searching for her lucky necklace with the tiny circular pendant. And not surprisingly, I found the chain, peeking at me, naughtily from her neckline. Kristen’s become inseparable with her lucky charm, I tell you, as she wears it with almost every outfit & not necessarily for show. A single gold ring adorned her left hand and completed her pure angelic look.

The bold change in wardrobe definitely seemed to reflect in her positive attitude as she looked comfortable & happy, graciously pleasing her fans by posing with them for photos. She did not look one bit the publicity-shy Kristen that we normally see. On June 30^th, we will get to know what happens to Bella amidst the war of vampires & werewolves but the mystery behind the lucky chain still remains.

3 Easy Steps to Become a Hollywood Star: Red Carpet Diva Cameron Diaz

Simultaneously if the dress is too long you may end up looking like Morticia Addams from the Addams family which is not necessarily a good thing.

Step 2: Accessorize with ice for spice

It goes without saying that the ice/jewelry that you choose is what will spice up your outfit. The advantage of wearing black garb is that jewelry of almost any color and gemstone goes well with it, but this is the downside as well as the possibilities are simply endless and you may spend long hours wondering what bling would bring it. But the stars do shed some light here on how to sparkle like one. The secret behind a diva’s spark is to wear something out of the ordinary. Think outside the box. Aishwarya Rai's Raavan & Ravishing Diamonds

Where did the pink panther diamond go? Apparently it has found its way on to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ears but in the form of a gigantic white diamond! The former Ms. World (1994) has finally decided to sit up and listen to fashion critics from all around the world after a string of less-than-pleasing fashion faux pas in the past.

So did her style win the approval of the fashion police this time? It did seem like she took the red carpet by storm during the premiere of her latest thriller movie, Raavan, held at BFI, Southbank in London, alongside hot hubby, Abhishek Bachan who plays the lead role in the movie. Move over Brangelina, Ash & Abhi are in the building!

Although some critics loved her saree, others have been scratching their heads. The L’Oreal ambassador has always been a patron of Sabyasachi sarees (she wore one at Cannes too) and this time she opted for an-off white net saree with an olive green & brown border from the same brand along with a long sleeved black and maroon velvet blouse, embroidered heavily with white floral designs. Whew!

In my opinion she could have lost some of the length of the blouse sleeves and made it into a halter neck. But on the whole, the saree did provide the right concoction of elegance and classical vintage beauty to the genetically blessed star. Her fans certainly seemed to agree via their hysterical shrieking and cheering. Perhaps they were star-struck by the huge diamond drop earrings that complimented her saree to a tee.

You may be accustomed to the basic diamond earrings that are quite a necessity to a woman’s ‘jeweldrobe’ but take a bear of a chance once in a while with those strikingly large diamond drop earrings or cubic zirconia substitutes if you like and bring down the house, in the true style of a star!

She enamored us even more with her double stranded gold charms necklace with a cross as the centerpiece, surrounded by delightful leaf charms.

MTV Movie Awards: A Whirlwind of Sexual Tension & Glitzy Jewelry

The MTV Movie Awards held in California had a lot of drama and sexual tension to offer this year, both on-screen as well as off-screen. I am still befuddled about what caught my attention more though. Was it the passionate lip lock that Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson shared after the former received the MTV Generation Award or was it the raunchy performance from Christina Aguilera and her team of erotically charged dancers for her song from her new album, Bionic OR was it the vigorous booty-smacking by Jennifer Lopez on an oversized Tom Cruise?

I would have to say the kiss from the divas ruled the roost but Christina’s red carpet fashion still needs mention anyhow. Her couture was completely over the top, just like her performance from later that night. She oozed with confidence though as she walked the red carpet in a very short Versace Atelier black number, with chain and feathery patterns, accessorized with Stephen Webster jewels and dramatic makeup including her favorite red lipstick.

Some would find her outfit futuristic, funky or downright freaky and it seemed like Christina filled the missing void of Lady Gaga that night. You can still look to the icon for jewelry inspiration though through her stylish, diamond encrusted belt. Belts are the perfect way to add a chic dash of color, texture or bling to any outfit and they help to give a feminine shape to a loose top or a long gown. They can be worn all over the torso, from just below the bust line to the waist or even worn low around the hips. The rumor mill in hip hop ville has been buzzing about the news that singer Keri Hilson and Rihanna’s ex, Mr. Notorious Chris Brown have the hots for each other. Keri on the other hand, has been very hush-hush about the whole affair. Well, she may be discreet about her love life but certainly not so secretive about her flamboyant jewelry.

She was one of the best dressed at the VH1 Hip Honors that took place at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York recently. The “Way I Are” singer inverted her innerwear as outerwear by rocking a sheer Wacoal corsette. You might think that wearing lingerie as the integral part of an outfit may end up looking trashy (sadly, Venus Williams’ red and black Moulin Rouge-style corsette comes to mind) but Keri pulled it off by completing the look with a casual pair of United Bamboo pants, a newsboy cap and Christian Louboutin peep-toe booties.

The icing on the cake (or should I say ‘ice’) was definitely her chunky layered silver chains that screamed style! The sexy crooner showed off another bling trend this year by stacking many rings together. The Devil Wears Prada actress seems to be patronizing earthy colors as she wore a lovely beige Valentino tulle gown at the Costume Institute Gala only recently. Anne has indeed matured as an actress and has come a long way since her Princess Diaries days but her playful, down-to-earth personality still remains intact, as can be seen from her brazen jewelry style.

Ladies, remember that you can wear almost any color with black (with the exception of black itself), but as we cruise into the summer mode try matching black with earthy colors such as brown, beige and green jewelry to really stand out.
