Blake Lively's Flings with Bling at Toronto

Blake Lively never ceases to stun me with her carefree yet matured sense of style. There’s something about the sun-kissed girl that keeps you guessing about what she would dole out to the next red-carpet fiesta. Every single outfit that the Gossip Girl actress dons seems like it was just randomly pulled out of her closet but she still manages to look effortlessly fashionable.

The 23-year-old actress arrived in Toronto to promote The Town, her upcoming film with Ben Affleck for the film festival pulling off a traveler-chic inspired look comprising of a baggy coat, hat, jeans and a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra Vintage Long Necklace with floral details that gave her wardrobe a feminine tinge.

A few hours later, the L.A lass maintained the masculine look for her film’s press conference but looked sophisticated in an ultra-chic silk beige cut-out blouse and a sexy pair of animal-print Christian Louboutin Pigalle python pumps.

(Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images)The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress showed that she knows a thing or two about pants herself as she rocked a pair of black belted draped ones, which emerged as the alternative to harem pants last year but still looked pretty fierce on Blake. The finishing touch to her layered look was naturally several long layered black bead chains. The strand of turquoise beads colorfully stood out at the centre and made this smart-casual look a hit.

Now her style for The Town premiere was a different saga altogether and it was girly glam power all the way. Blake wore her lovely hair down, dolled up and rightfully painted the town red in a seductive Chanel Fall 2010 Couture crimson-wine dress with rose petal details around the hip that looked absolutely gorgeous on the leggy beauty’s lean frame.

Her Christian Louboutin Big Lips 120 pencil pumps did their thing as did her black metallic earrings and three large cocktail rings with a large ruby ring as the centerpiece. Two words. Pure intoxication.

You can certainly look to Blake Lively for fashion inspiration, as she not only lets you into her fabulous wardrobe collection but also shows you that wherever you go, the right jewelry can always uplift an outfit beyond your wildest dreams. And guess what? She doesn’t even use a professional stylist! With her grasp on the latest fashion trends and amazing style sense, she truly doesn’t need one.

Get Ready to Get Nude with Jewelry

Don’t get startled just as yet. You may know that “nude” is the new black this spring and for those of you who have been in hibernation, nude colors are colors that range from neutral soft-flesh tones to earthy hues such as cream, peach, brown and light pink. Previously, nude colors were popular in footwear and makeup but this year they have apparently crawled their way into haute couture apparel.

However, you may ask what’s with the ‘getting nude with jewelry now.' Should you go and bare it all for the entire world to see in the name of being fashion-forward? Should you step out in the hot sun or the cold breeze (in whichever part of the world you are) in just a bracelet or a necklace and nothing else? Kate Winslet pulled it off in Titanic for Leonardo di Caprio so why not you? Hold your horses just there! The answer to the question is “none of the above”!

So what is nude jewelry? It isn’t jewelry around your neck, your wrist, your fingers or your ears but it is on your bare naked skin and Asia’s first and only nude jewelry artist, Nobuhiko Akatsuka is a connoisseur of this unconventional and sensual art form, his canvas being your body! We do remember that Chanel introduced its temporary skin art collection, namely Les Trompe- L’oeil back in February and Sarah Jessica Parker, the quintessence of novel fashion sported a tattoo herself for the Oscars, from Chanel’s collection, which resembled a delicate diamond bracelet.

But Mr. Nobuhiko’s nude jewelry is on a different platter altogether. He creates the motifs of spring such as flowers and butterflies as tattoo art, using pure gold foils and pure platinum foils to decorate the skin, thereby modernizing body painting as a sensual, stylish and sexy fashion statement. This new jewelry style was all the rage on Fashion TV lately but would nude jewelry transform into the “bare” necessities for your wardrobe? Time will tell but for now all you bold fashionistas may dare to get bare with this wild and wonderful look.

Get “carried” away with Sarah Jessica Parker

82nd Academy Awards - Arrivals

What is it about Sarah Jessica Parker that literally takes our breath away? It is as though she owns a secret stock of style that keeps oozing out of the lady which we lap up more than happily! It's been a busy two years for the fashion diva. Not only is she about to star, once again, as the beloved Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City 2, but she also became a mother again, adding twin girls to her family.

But this didn’t stop her from sporting a uniquely daring look at the 82nd Academy Awards. The 45 year old starlet was rocking a butter-yellow silk Chanel gown with spectacular vintage jewels from Fred Leighton which included a pair of dazzling floral earrings and a moon-shaped cocktail diamond ring.

But the attention-grabbers were surely her armful of eclectic bracelets, featuring a 1950’s diamond swirl bracelet, cognac diamond flexible bracelet, rose-cut diamond bracelet in platinum and a diamond wave bangle. Whew! To top it off she added a personal touch to her wrist bling by adding a silvery-blue girly hair rubber band, taking the current trend of stacking to a whole new level. Apart from complimenting the silver embroidery on the neckline of her gown, these bracelets almost seemed to be tossing all the clichés out of the red carpet.

So don’t be afraid to experiment with stacking many bracelets & bangles of different textures. Combine wood, silver sterling and even your very own fabric rubber band to flaunt your personal style. If Sarah can pull it off so can you!
