The Clinton Affair - Chelsea Ties Knot in Flowers

Chelsea Clinton looks at Marc Mezvinsky after their wedding ceremony at Astor Court in Rhinebeck, New York July 31, 2010. Did you hear? Former president Bill Clinton was in the news recently for...hold your breath now…it was for…his daughter’s wedding of course!

America’s very own royal wedding of the century took place recently at the Astor Courts in Rhinebeck in New York where a super-flushed Chelsea Clinton finally tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend and investment banker, Marc Mezvinsky amidst the crème de la crème (sans Mr. Obama though).

Yes, there were $600,000 tents with glass walls, flowers worth half a million bucks, mobile toilets, security that costed $200,000 and yadayadayada! I shall cut the I mean cut to the chase and reveal what you’ve been waiting for – her look for the big ‘I do’ moment.

She dazzled every dollar that was invested in her custom-made Vera Wang strapless organza gown which featured a draped silk tulle bodice. The highlight of the gown was undoubtedly her bejeweled belt which gave it a modern yet elegant twist and is a fantastic style trend that any bride-to-be can emulate.

But you would be surprised by Chelsea’s choice of minimal ornaments – an understated pair of diamond earrings, matching tennis bracelet and her princess cut diamond engagement ring set in platinum. The earrings were simply a delight though and comprised of two clusters of seven diamonds that were set to resemble small flowers.

The former first daughter serves as a beacon of light to show that a few pieces of tasteful jewelry can still complement your wedding gown on that big romantic day. Now if Marc didn’t fall in love with her all over again after seeing her dainty look, then I certainly would have (with her jewelry of course).

Angelina Jolie Sets Russian Red Carpet On Fire

American actress Angelina Jolie attends the premiere of Phillip Noyce's movie 'Salt', a spy thriller, at Oktyabr Cinema in Moscow, Russia, on July 25, 2010. Photo by Maxim Shemetov/Itar-Tass/ABACAPRESS.COM Photo via Newscom
Angelina Jolie’s appearance at Moscow recently was like a pinch of ‘salt’ to spice up a dish. She was there to promote her latest thriller Salt in which she plays the role of a Russian spy. Angie pulled a rare 'Kristen Stewart' by donning a color other than black, the color of love, blood, passion & danger – RED.

Not surprisingly her fans devoured every bit of her while she stood like a queen in a red halter neck silk chiffon gown from Versace Atelier that hugged her slim tattooed body.

Perhaps the Tomb Raider actress checked up on the Moscow weather before touching down in the land of Vodka because it seemed like she took full advantage of the wind by letting her gown’s train and long hair flow radiantly in the zephyrs.

Asked about her training for the movie, she said she had to spend long hours practicing Russian, a language which she described as ‘soft and seductive’. Not far from her jewelry choice at the premiere I would say, comprising solely of a sparkling pair of subtle diamond earring studs, which didn’t steal the thunder of her siren-hot red attire but nevertheless it gave it a touch of sophistication.

Take a tip from Brad Pitt’s lady that whenever you want your couture to be the centre of attention, keep your other accessories to a minimum but at the same time it is imperative that you do not neglect wearing jewelry to make a statement such as a classy pair of diamond studs or a single bracelet.

Spies are notorious for hiding top secrets but I think we can excuse Angelina Jolie, just this one time, in the name of jewelry fashion of course!

Aishwarya Rai's Raavan & Ravishing Diamonds

LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 16: Aishwarya Rai arrives at the World Premiere of Raavan at the BFI Southbank on June 16, 2010 in London, England. (Photo by Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images)

Where did the pink panther diamond go? Apparently it has found its way on to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ears but in the form of a gigantic white diamond! The former Ms. World (1994) has finally decided to sit up and listen to fashion critics from all around the world after a string of less-than-pleasing fashion faux pas in the past.

So did her style win the approval of the fashion police this time? It did seem like she took the red carpet by storm during the premiere of her latest thriller movie, Raavan, held at BFI, Southbank in London, alongside hot hubby, Abhishek Bachan who plays the lead role in the movie. Move over Brangelina, Ash & Abhi are in the building!

Although some critics loved her saree, others have been scratching their heads. The L’Oreal ambassador has always been a patron of Sabyasachi sarees (she wore one at Cannes too) and this time she opted for an-off white net saree with an olive green & brown border from the same brand along with a long sleeved black and maroon velvet blouse, embroidered heavily with white floral designs. Whew!

In my opinion she could have lost some of the length of the blouse sleeves and made it into a halter neck. But on the whole, the saree did provide the right concoction of elegance and classical vintage beauty to the genetically blessed star. Her fans certainly seemed to agree via their hysterical shrieking and cheering. Perhaps they were star-struck by the huge diamond drop earrings that complimented her saree to a tee.

You may be accustomed to the basic diamond earrings that are quite a necessity to a woman’s ‘jeweldrobe’ but take a bear of a chance once in a while with those strikingly large diamond drop earrings or cubic zirconia substitutes if you like and bring down the house, in the true style of a star!

Anne Hathaway Tries Chocolate Jewelry

The 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards New York City.

They say chocolates are an aphrodisiac. But have you tried wearing chocolate as jewelry!? Rest assured there is a way to do it without inviting the ants. Anne Hathaway showed us how and taught us that chocolates can be a girl’s best friend too apart from glittering diamonds. Seeing her sassy fashion statement recently, at the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards in Lincoln Centre, I couldn’t agree more. The Alice in Wonderland actress arrived at the event in a classic black one-shoulder outfit from Lanvin.

She rocked the dress with playful yellow and brown chocolate diamond cluster earrings and a ginormous cocktail ring, with similar stones, from Lorraine Schwartz. Two words. Sexy & De-licious! Anne’s chocolate diamonds brought out the sparkle of her warm brown eyes as well as her natural brunette beauty, adding a touch of earthy sophistication to her all-black jumpsuit.

The Devil Wears Prada actress seems to be patronizing earthy colors as she wore a lovely beige Valentino tulle gown at the Costume Institute Gala only recently. Anne has indeed matured as an actress and has come a long way since her Princess Diaries days but her playful, down-to-earth personality still remains intact, as can be seen from her brazen jewelry style.

Ladies, remember that you can wear almost any color with black (with the exception of black itself), but as we cruise into the summer mode try matching black with earthy colors such as brown, beige and green jewelry to really stand out.
